Jim Josephsen paints regularly with Willoughby Workshop Arts Centre and workshops with the National Arts School. He has travelled often to his favourite country (other than Australia) Italy, to do art tours and workshops there. Recently he has been focusing on his printmaking and participated in a course at “Il Bisonte” in Florence earlier this year.
Jim has painted all his life, but it has only been in the last 10 years that he has dedicated real time to his career as an artist.
He specializes in landscapes, both Australian and Italian (where he has travelled and studied extensively).
His medium is acrylic – colourful, impressionistic and textured. He works both large and small scale and is a skilled printmaker.
“I like to capture the mood of the landscape, or describe the personality of a building as I perceive it. I get involved with the colour and texture of the things I see.”
